“Muxelka Volunteers Theory” was initiated by Asociacion Cultural Muxelka together with APA Xanela del CEIP María Pita y la APA María Casares del IES Elviña from A Coruña, Spain.
The project is a sort of sociological experiment at European level. Its purpose is to confirm the equation E = MC2, where E is Europe, M is the mobility and C is the human capital. At the core of the EU is the possibility of free mobility without restrictions. The project aims to increase European awareness and consciousness on the mobility that bring educational programs of the CE.
When working with youth and children of A Coruña, volunteers had the opportunity to gain new experiences. Our goal is to demonstrate that the European volunteering contributes to the strengthening of human capital. And this is a guideline of the basic principles of the EU. This is the spirit underlying the program + E, along with the conviction that human capital is the greatest wealth of the Union.
The project was aimed at providing a promotion of the European mobility activities, non-formal education and intercultural learning opportunities to young people from A Coruña but also a volunteers from Croacia and Russia.
The Project consisted of hosting 2 volunteers form Croatia (Ana) and Russia (Iuliia) during 9 months from October 1st and June 30th in order to launch a space for sharing skills and knowledge and meet young people in A Coruña by organizing workshops, language clases and presentations. EVS volunteers were working work on gathering ideas, organisation and promotion of these activities.
Volunteers carried out the service for up to 35h per week and have 2 consecutive free days per week as well as some free days during their EVS, that were be defined together with the staff of hosting organizations.
The main objectives of this project were providing information about European mobility activities, non formal education, intercultural learning for our EVS volunteers but also for local volunteers and local community in general and helping in building more active and inclusive local community.
