Lugar: Catania, Italia
Duración: 10 meses
Fecha del inicio: 01/10/2018
Fecha del fin: 31/07/2019
Fecha límite para envíar solicitudes: 16/03/2018
Descripción del proyecto:
Arci Catania is a recreational social and cultural promoting organisation that coordinates the different organisations and realities of the ARCI network in the city of Catania and in its district.
The main activities of the organisation are related to the coordination – as umbrella organisation – of the local NGOs belonging to the Arci network – mainly youth, cultural or community centres – and their support in order to be more effective, sustainable and performing.
More generally, our activities are related to:
-Culture and arts (music, cinema, dance, visual arts, theatre, web-radio, etc.)
-Cultural diversity, intercultural learning and anti-discrimination (legal support, cultural mediation, language support, empowerment of minorities organisations, anti-racist campaigns, etc).
-International youth mobility
-Education and Youth work
Alojamiento, manutención, transporte etc.:
The volunteers will share a room in a flat located in the centre of Catania at 15-20min walking distance from the Arci Catania office. The flat is shared with 2 other young people with a common kitchen, a washing machine, a bathroom and a living room.
All costs related to the house such as the bills and taxes will be covered by the receiving organisation but there isn’t any heating system in the flat. The volunteers will receive money monthly money for food and pocket money (total of about 300€/month).
Formación durante el proyecto:
Volunteers will be able to use the official Online Linguistic Support (OLS) provided by the European Commission. Additionally they will have free access to Italian language courses in Catania through one of our associations according to their level.
They will also have the opportunity to take for free the official certifying Italian language exam (in cooperation with Perugia University) since Arci Catania is decentralised CELI exam centre.
Volunteers will also have two mandatory trainings with other EVS volunteers in the country, one on arrival and the other around the half of the project.
Perfil del voluntario:
We would like to host volunteers who demonstrate a strong interest for the main themes of the project and our main areas of activities. Previous organisational experiences in NGOs and knowledge in the issues mentioned above will surely help the volunteers’ full integration into the project but are not essential for them to be selected.
However, their specific motivation in taking part in this project is as important as its coherence with their personal life experience and future plans. As learning Italian is essential to this project, motivation to its learning is of course necessary.
