Time passes here so quickly. Already I am 1/3 of the way through my EVS experience.
‘‘Time flies when you are having fun’’…
but also, when you are busy and when you have new and interesting challenges to fill your time. This is how I would describe the last 8 weeks. Very full. Here are some of the highlights:
Viaje – Vigo > Porto > Braga
This trip was so cool to be with my friends, to see new things and to have a change of scenery. Even though the weather was very bad with fog and rain I enjoyed tours of the cities and trying typical cuisine from Portugal.
On Arrival Training
Chicas de Muxelka had our first formacion. I had hoped to go somewhere new, hot and exotic. Instead we were sent to Begondo (a small town in A Coruña). Actually, Begondo is cute in it’s own way, with a charming beach and lush greenery. During this week, I met other volunteers from across Galicia and also representatives from the National Agency in Galicia. It was a great opportunity to network and make friends. The training was full of activities and workshops. I didn’t like some things but in general it was a really fun week. After all, I was not disappointed that the training was in A Coruña as we got to explore more of Galicia and its mysterious secret locations.
Finally, the festive season came. To celebrate we had cena de navidad with all Muxelka volunteers. It was a little sad to part for the Christmas holidays but also, I was excited to be going home for a break and to enjoy my home comforts.
In the New Year I was glad to return to Coruna, refreshed and ready to bring enthusiasm and new ideas to all my tasks in EVS. Together with the other girls we have a ‘Bucket List in España’ so…
I hope to write soon with news of more travels, more challenges and more adventures in Galicia!!!
Un abrazo fuerte!
